Our Journey

Compassionate Grooming, Personalized Care

Flickinger’s Paws and Claws was founded in 2018 by owner Sara Flickinger, who began her grooming career at just 16 years old. After working in boarding facilities, corporate grooming, and several independent salons, Sara set out to create a grooming experience rooted in compassion, patience, and quality.
What began as a one-woman operation has now grown into a thriving, two-location grooming business supported by a dedicated team. With over 12 years of experience, ongoing education, and a true love for animals, we are committed to ensuring every pet feels safe, comfortable, and cared for during their grooming visit.

Meet the passionate professionals behind our grooming services

Sara Flickinger

Owner & Certified Groomer

Sara launched Flickinger’s Paws and Claws in 2018 after years of grooming experience across corporate and independent salons. She holds numerous certifications, including Certified Pet Groomer, Pet CPR & First Aid, Certified Canine Esthetician, Senior Dog Certified, and Safe Handling Certified. Her Mifflintown location has earned multiple Readers’ Choice and Best of Juniata County awards.

Sheena Berrier

Groomer

Sheena has been an animal lover her entire life—from catching salamanders as a child to caring for her own lively crew of pets today. She is certified in Pet CPR & First Aid and has completed multiple grooming courses, including sanitation, brush & bather training, and coat-type specialization. Her gentle approach and attention to detail help pets look and feel their best.

Tamrance Odonell

Groomer

Tamrance brings strong foundational training through certifications in Brusher/Bather and Proper Storage & Sanitation. With five beloved dogs at home, she has a natural connection to animals and strives to make every pet feel comfortable and loved during their grooming visits.
